What a week! I will be putting together a video of this bench that was inspired by the “Blue Ridge Tunnel” and sharing this experience that we just completed this week at the #virginiainstituteofblacksmithing . I was invited to design a project/workshop that would help push and demand students to forge to dimension. The day started with a straight forward demo of a technique that they needed to accomplish an element of the design, and the rest of the day I assisted everyone with the pieces assigned to them to #forge, building concepts and discussions of how to fix problems as they arrived. Part of projects, such as this, is also an exercise of quick problem solving. Working with such #blacksmiths was a refreshing treat for me. Everyone involved excelled in their abilities, attitudes and stamina! Dale was most excellent to collaborate with as he offered his assistance with his diverse background and quality studio that the institute is held at. We moved some serious iron. I am so proud to have been part of this project and walk along side with everyone to see the completion of truly a one-of-kind piece and milestone experience. Thanks again guys! And until next time…keep it dirty the bench looks great! #metalart #furniture #bench #blueridgetunnel #dirtysmith
